Article Processing Charges (APC) & Waiver Policy

Transparent fee disclosure as required by DOAJ and OASPA — no hidden charges.

NJPST is transitioning its fee structure during digitisation. No author is charged without prior written quotation and acceptance.

1. What the APC Covers

Peer-review management, copyediting, typesetting, DOI registration (Zenodo/Crossref), online hosting, indexing (AJOL, Crossref, DOAJ) and long-term preservation (PKP PN / LOCKSS). There is no submission fee — you pay only after acceptance.

2. When It Is Payable

Only after the Editor-in-Chief issues a formal Acceptance Letter with a quotation. No payment is requested during submission or peer review. Payment is via Flutterwave (major cards, bank transfer) at https://journal.zabdiel.me/njpst/... — an invoice/receipt is issued.

3. Waivers & Discounts

  • PIN members: discounted APC (contact editorial office for current PIN member rate)
  • Early-career / low-income authors and authors from LDCs may request a full or partial waiver — email the editor with a brief justification before payment
  • Invited reviews / editorials — no APC

Waiver decisions are made by the Editor-in-Chief independently of the review outcome and do not affect the editorial decision.

4. No Double Dipping

There are no additional page charges, colour charges or submission fees. The APC is the only fee. If you are quoted a different amount, please verify with [email protected].

5. Refunds

APCs are refundable only if the editorial office withdraws the article due to a publisher error before online publication. After online publication (DOI active), APCs are non-refundable (see Retraction Policy for corrections/retractions).

This policy will be updated with a fixed Naira/USD table once the 2026 fee is ratified. The date above will be revised and authors notified.
